Title: Bandwidth Usage with ethereal
Can I suggest that ntop (from http://www.ntop.org) will do what you want. This uses the same packet capture libraries and does a very good job of displaying top talkers, protocols etc. (It can also read in an ethereal capture after the fact to analysis)

Subject: [Ethereal-users] Bandwidth Usage with ethereal

Bs"d

Hello,

We're running a Winwowds NT/2000 network, with Checkpoint FW and VPN as
Gateway. We have about 50 users sharing a T1 connection with 256KB bandwidth.
Were looking for a way to locate machines on our network that use the most
Internet access. We installed Ethereal on the FW machine, and started sniffing.
In this way it was hard to locate the larger resorces consumer. is there a set of filter
rules, or some plugin that we can use to show bandwith consumption?
Now we just see all packets passing trough, and it is very dificult to get only the
Info we want...

Thanks,
Oren.
