I had this same problem on 7.2.
Just create a link from /usr/lib/libcrypto.so to /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.
Hope this helps

Subject: [Ethereal-users] Installation Problem on RedHat Linux 7.3 (missing
libcrypto.so.0)
Hi:
Sorry if the question has already been asked, but I am trying to
install ethereal-base-0.9.4-1.i386.rpm on a system running RedHat Linux 7.3.
I get the following error:
[root@dhcp-153-2 cisco]# rpm -ivh ethereal-base-0.9.4-1.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libcrypto.so.0 is needed by ethereal-base-0.9.4-1
[root@dhcp-153-2 cisco]#
I do have the following:
[root@dhcp-153-2 cisco]# whereis libcrypto
libcrypto: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so /usr/lib/libcrypto.a [root@dhcp-153-2
cisco]# [root@dhcp-153-2 cisco]# [root@dhcp-153-2 cisco]# cd /usr/lib
[root@dhcp-153-2 lib]# rpm -qf libcrypto.so openssl-devel-0.9.6b-18
[root@dhcp-153-2 lib]#
However, I do not see libcrypto.so.0. Can anyone tell what package
this file belongs too?
TIA
Alan
