Peak limit?
last year, yesterday, today, tomorrow, next month, next year?
There are so many variables in this question.

I've seen 3% packet loss when capturing on a GigInterface running at
30% load. I've seen 20% packet loss on a 100Mbit interface heavily
loaded. The Gig capture was done yesterday, the 100Mb capture done
last week, the captures were done with 2 different systems.
