Note that

is in the current libpcap CVS, in both the main and 0.7 branches, so the
next libpcap release, whenever it comes out, should include it.

The author of that patch said, in the mail to "patches@xxxxxxxxxxx"
containing the above patch that "the next release of the prism2 driver
uses the PF_PACKET interface properly", so perhaps the kernel patch
won't be necessary at some point.  (That would be Very Good, as it means
that libpcap can capture on Prism II cards, so any program using libpcap
and handling the DLT_ type used will Just Work.)
