And I think I found the reason:
grep fh_len /usr/include/*/*.h returns the following:

/usr/include/nfs/nfs.h:#undef fh_len
/usr/include/nfs/nfs.h: u_short fh_len;                 /* file number
length */
/usr/include/sys/types.h:#define fh_len fh_fid.fid_len
