I observed a similar problem with tethereal on linux.
If I specify a duration (of say 5 secs, i.e.
aduration:5) and if no packets arrive within this
duration, then tethereal wouldn't quit. Is there a fix
for it? I don't see this problem in win 2000.

Yes, Graeme Hewson did, and sent in a fix, which will
be in the next
release when it comes out.
