The switch likely will not forward non-broadcast packets flowing
between two ports, to a third port where the ethereal is connected,
unless you use a port replication configuration inside the switch
so that all traffic goes also to the port where the ethereal is connected...
I am not sure all switches allow this to be done. Bridging-type captures
are much easier on a flat hub where all ports see all traffic.
And be careful of dual-speed (10 / 100) hubs with dissimilar speeds
being used at the same hub device where the 10 devices don't
see the 100 traffic usw.
