Hi Thomas!

I tried that many times .. both with promiscuous mode selected and
unselected. Ethereal never saw anything put broadcast and localhost
traffic.

I did however eventually get Ethereal to work in an unconventional way. I
ran the Etherpeek demo in the background, and even though the capture stops
after 30 seconds due to the evaluation nature of the product, the Etherpeek
drivers must still be running, because if I then run Ethereal with Etherpeek
running in the background, Ethereal DOES pick up all traffic correctly!

Any idea if this is a known issue?

Thanks for the help!

Mark

<snip>

it seems, that your Ethereal is not running in promiscuous mode. Since
Ethereal 0.8.18, promiscuous mode is not set by default.
So enable promiscuous mode checkbox in the window 'Capture Preferences'
(Menu 'Capture' --> 'Start') and try it again.
