I am attempting to install Ethereal, prerequisite is to have GTK and GLIB to
be installed.
GLIB configured, make and make install proceeded well
GTK+-1.2.10 has not, when I attempt to configure it I get the following
message

checking for X ... no
configure: error:
*** X libraries or include files not found. Check 'config.log' for
*** more details

When I read config.log I get:
configure: 4544: checking for X
configure: 4611: gcc -E conftest.c >/dev/null 2>conftest.out
configure: 4607:27: X11/Intrinsic.h: No such file or directory
configure: 4687: gcc -o conftest -g -02 -Wall conftest.c -lXt 1>&5
configure: In function 'main' :
configure: 4683: warning: implicit declaration of function 'XtMalloc'
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXt
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
configure: failed program was:
#line 4680 "configure"
#include "confdefs.h"

Can anyone help please.

Sincerely,

Tony Paredes
