Windows may be trying NetBIOS lookups for the IP addresses in
addition to DNS. If so, this isn't anything Ethereal can control.
Try cruising over to MS' site and search their knowledge base for registry
settings. You're looking for the setting for NetBIOS node type. I
personally set mine to a "P" node so that it only uses WINS to do NetBIOS
lookups. I believe the defaults always include using broadcasts, either
before or after WINS or as the only option if you don't have a WINS server
setup. Broadcast NetBIOS name lookups are evil, and should be avoided at
all costs...
