I'm going from memory here, but I seem to recall that when I installed the
packet driver on my Win98SE machine the driver install procedure kept
re-prompting me to pick the file.
On my first install, I cancelled when it re-prompted me and I ended up with
the packet driver bound only to the dial-up adapter. So I ran the install
again, but this time I continued to re-pick the file 3 or 4 times before I
selected cancel. I ended up with the packet driver bound to my dial-up
adapter and several repeated bindings to my ethernet adapter. I just
deleted the extra bindings to the ethernet adapter (leaving only one intact)
and everything worked fine after that.
Hope that helps.
