In the WinPCap instructions you should be adding a protocol, so the dialogue
should be "Select Network Protocol". Have you followed the instructions
exactly ? It's some time since I did it myself so I can't remember if the
instructions on the WinPCap site are 100%, but they're what I used.

I haven't had these problems on either Win98 or NT 4.0. The only thing I
can suggest is to put the files in a directory with a simpler name, i.e. no
hyphen, although I don't think that this would be a problem.
If you can't get any further I would contact the originators of WinPCap at
winpcap@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ethereal will show you what is on the wire. It's up to you to determine if
the data is what you expect.
