Hi, I am having the same problem as Miguel. I am
running Red Hat 6.2 on a PC and cannot get Ethereal to
work. I installed libpcap-0.4-19.1386.rpm,
ucd-snmp-4.1.1-2.i386.rpm, and
ucd-snmp-utils-4.1.1-2.i386.rpm from Red Hat's site
first. Then I installed ethereal-0.8.10-1.i386.rpm
without a problem from
ftp://ethereal.zing.org/pub/ethereal/rpms/. But when
I try to launch it I keep getting the same message:
ethereal: error in loading shared libraries:
ethereal: undefined symbol:
         > snmp_set_suffix_only

Any ideas as to what else could be causing the
problem?

Thanks for any help!

If you have an PC (rather than an Alpha or
SPARC or... machine), try
installing the precompiled RPMs for Ethereal
0.8.10 from

ftp://ftp.falsehope.com/home/gomez/ethereal/

         or

ftp://ethereal.zing.org/pub/ethereal/rpms/

         I.e, download "ethereal-0.8.10-1.i386.rpm"
and install that.
