If you have an PC (rather than an Alpha or SPARC or...  machine), try
installing the precompiled RPMs for Ethereal 0.8.10 from

	ftp://ftp.falsehope.com/home/gomez/ethereal/

or

	ftp://ethereal.zing.org/pub/ethereal/rpms/

I.e, download "ethereal-0.8.10-1.i386.rpm" and install that.
