In fact, they strongly suggest that you're running Ethereal 0.8.5, and
the Ethereal home page says:

	April 6, 2000
A serious bug found its way into 0.8.5, causing a crash in
Ethereal when capturing more than once in a single Ethereal
session. Version 0.8.6 fixes this, and fixes a few minor
build-related items. The RADIUS dissector was updated,
	     too.

which suggests that the way to make it stop dumping core is to stop
running Ethereal 0.8.5.

If you go to

	ftp://ftp.falsehope.com/home/gomez/ethereal/

you can get x86 and source RPMs of Ethereal 0.8.7 (the current version),
built on Red Hat 6.x for some value of "x".
