Ah right - I'm doing the same using text2pcap with "-l 141" to take in a MTP3 payload but I'm not faking up and MAC or IP addresses so when I view it in Ethereal there's no ethernet or IP layers - just Frame, MTP3, and then higher ones.
I'm currently fighting with text2pcap to get the timestamps read & setup correctly :-(
