Hi,

Just a precision. Strictly speaking, Gianluca is right. But there's a workaround. You should be able to use the "netcap" application (on the support tools of the Windows XP CD-ROM http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310875 ) With netcap, it's possible to record network traffic in a file Ethereal can handle. Therefore, it's a 2 steps process but it's better than nothing!

Regards

Laurent

Hi.

Unfortunately, Ethereal is not able to capture on Windows 64 bit, since WinPcap (the undelying capture infrastructure) at the moment does not support 64bit (we are planning to add support for it in the next months).

Have a nice day

Subject: [Ethereal-dev] ethereal and xp64 = no go :(

hi there..

i've tried to install ethereal on XP 64-bit edition, but sadly, after installing LibPCAP and ethereal and rebooting, no capture interfaces show up :(

I've looked in preferences for available interfaces, etc. and its completely blank :(

if i'm doing something wrong or if theres something you think might help, or want me to run a test or two, please let me know.. I need to see where packets are coming from..
