Hi,

I lot of changes has been done to the GSM MAP decoding in 0.10.12 could you please update to that version and report any errors, preferably with a trace illustrating the problem.

To whom it may concern,

 

I have Ethereal 0.10.11 installed in my PC and I tried to decode a GSM snoop trace.

I noticed that the Ethereal can not decode all the parameters, and I saw some of the parameters have the following error:

 

BER error: This field lies beyond the end of known sequence definition.

 

The snoop trace contains MAP operation LocationUpdate and InsertSubscriberData.

 

Is there some more configuration that need to be done in Ethereal, I have MTP3 == ANSI and TCAP == ITU?

 

Or

 

Is the decoder for GSM broken?
