Hi,
I'm not in a position to do any code changes, I don't have any kind of development environment on my windows
machine, but I'll happily do some testing if you folks can fix the problems.
It seems there are two separate issues:
1. a regression so that decoding SMS text no longer works.
2. an improvement to add the ability to decode alphanumeric SMS TP-Originating-Address
/John.

Hello,
Some time ago I've sent a patch to enable a proper deconding of an
alphanumeric 7-bit encoded SMS TP-Originating-Address. Here is the patch :
http://www.ethereal.com/lists/ethereal-dev/200502/msg00399.html
I've tested a local Ethereal build, which had applied the patch above,
the TP-OA has been decoded fine as "Asa".
Regards,
Viorel

Hi,
I've found some problems in the GSM MAP dissector with the trace file
which I'm trying to fix but the problem with the SMS
message is in packet-gsm_sms.c,
which I don't know anything about.
Best regards
Anders

Hi,
I've been using windows XP SP2. Ethereal version 10.7 seemed to work fine.
Version 10.10 crashed while trying
to display some MAP traces I have, while version 10.11 doesn't crash, but
it doesn't display the text of the
SMS message correctly. I've already sent a trace to the list, but I'll
attach it again to this email for you.
The only unusual thing about the message is that one of the addresses is
type 5 (alphanumeric) which is not
decoded, but this should not effect the decoding of the rest of the
message.
Thanks,
/John.
