Thomas,
Thanks for the reply.
Except installing GTK+, i installed everything and compiled ethereal.
only tethereal was generated. When i checked the configure file for
ethereal, i found GTK+ is missing and it is required GTK+ Version >= 2.0.0
So i am trying to install GTK+2.4.0
configure script for this GTK_2.4.0 gave the following error
Pango 1.2.0 and Xft backend is required for x11 target
by this time i have installed Pango 1.4.0
i am not giving any option to ./configure of GTK
I can provide if anymore info required.
Do i need to do anything with /etc/ld.so.conf
Regards,
Hari

The configure script should take care of most of that. Where exactly
do you have problems? Please provide at least the options that you
used with configure and make, and the error messages.
