What kind of Prism card are you using? If you have an 11g/11a card then that is correct. In promiscuous mode we encapsulate the 802.11 frame in an 802.3 frame with an additional radio header.

I set the Intersil prism card to promiscus mode using Pcap_open_live().
Then i tried to capture the packets using pcap_next().The packets which i captured did not have their 802.11b headers ,only 802.3 headers were there(I tried to print the raw packets in Hex)
