attached is a patch to make the nsis script work with both GTK 2.2 and GTK 2.4. (some additions to cvsignore files are attached, too.) 

Please check in.
I have added two new macros to config.nmake. If you want to use GTK 2.4 you have change the value of "GTK2_INST_VERSION" to "2.4" and "PANGO_INST_VERSION" to "1.4". 

The default values in the patch are for GTK 2.2.
The macros GTK1_VERSION and GTK2_VERSION aren't used anywhere else but in config.nmake . They can be removed probably.
The new GTK file selection widget in GTK 2.4 is really nice. The MS windows users will like it. 

BTW, I like the new about menu with that big Ethereal icon.
