In my opinion SIP is not "carrying" SDP, SDP is used by the SIP protocoll to describe
the media transport - the SDP "message" is 'meaning less' on it's own, you need to see them together.

What do you mean by "not en entity of it's own"? There's a clear point
where the SIP part stops and the SDP part begins. Where is the difference
to - let's say IP and TCP?
