Guy,

These don't hang either:
"Enable MAC name resolution"           - On
"Enable network name resolution"     - On
"Enable transport name resolution"   - On
"Enable concurrent DNS name resolution" - Off

And going back to the original doesn't hang either:
"Enable MAC name resolution"           - On
"Enable network name resolution"     - Off
"Enable transport name resolution"   - On
"Enable concurrent DNS name resolution" - Off

So now I can't reproduce the problem.....Which stinks for debugging it.
There are only a couple other relevant things that I can think of:
1. Prior to this problem, I upgraded my system from a previous version of ethereal (unfortunately I can't remember which version, though it at least as recent as 0.9.9) I uninstalled the old version using the windows control panel (I didn't realize there was an option to do so in the start menu).
2. I've been changing preferences and saving them using edit->preferences. So if there was something "funky" in the file used to save that data, it got corrected with the changes you had me do.

And if you turn "enable transport name resolution" on, and leave all
the other settings the same, it does hang?
