Hi all,

I've been trying WinCVS (http://cvsgui.sourceforge.net) for the last few
days, and it allows the end-user to specify a proxy (Admin -> Preferences...
-> General tab -> Settings...).  In order to know whether it works for your
proxy, try telnetting to the proxy (on its HTTP proxy port), and issue the
following request:

CONNECT cvs.ethereal.com:2401 HTTP/1.0<newline>
<newline>

(Replace <newline> with a newline character.)  If your proxy answers with
"HTTP/1.1 200" then you can use WinCVS.  Otherwise you can fall back on
CVSgrab, or you may want to ask the IT support to allow this CONNECT
request.
