Hi all,

I often have the need of counting the occurrences of some filterable thing
happen in a capture. It would be nice to have this implemented. I suppose
going through the packet list is fairly simple, but write the graphical
front-end requires GTK programming... Which I do not master (yet :)

As packets can be encapsulated within packets, we really need to count the
number of matching frames and the total number of occurrences.

Should this be part of the Tools->statistics, or could we always write this
type of info in some status line at the bottom of Ethereal?
