Does anyone else have the desire the save a "profile"
consisting of preferences, display and capture filters,
and disabled protocols?

I am often looking at different stacks that require
me to change preferences a lot.

For instance to look at North American GSM systems
I have to set my A-interface BSSAP/BSAP preference to BSSAP,
the MTP3 preference to ANSI and the TCAP preference to ITU (for GSM MAP).

For IS41 MAP based systems in India I have to set my A-interface BSSAP/BSAP
preference to BSAP, MTP3 preference to ITU and TCAP preference to ANSI (for
IS41 MAP).

And there are other variations like China systems where Chinese ITU MTP3 is
required,
pure IOS/IS-634 based North American systems that are fully ANSI, etc.

In addition I always want my display filter set to "BASIC" which consists of
MGCP or MEGACO or SIP or SCCP or ISUP or SCCP.

Everytime I start Ethereal or change to a different capture file I have to
modify
a lot of setup, it would be easier to have a "profile".

Anybody else?

Actually yes--I just never thought of it that way (my "workaround" has been to set protocol options on the command line and use my shell history to get the right "profile"; I guess an easier way would be to write scripts to do it).
