I am a member of ethereal devolopment list so i will know if release is
going to happen.

Won't it we good if Gerald announces date of code freeze for the version .
Or can we put the freezed code tar on website ,so that compilation problem
can be found out, can be put on dev list and fixed before the release.  I
can download

thats good I am also not a big fan of microsoft ,i generally works on linux
and FreeBSD but my work requirs me to compile ethereal  so it will help me
and others interested in compiling ethereal on win32.
