This scanner.c file the one I was referring to when I said do a "make
clean" to remove the files that are generated.
Why is this scanner.c file part of the distribution anyway? If it is
generated shouldn't we leave it out?

It was added to cleanbld.bat in mid-March, with a patch from Andreas
Sikkema, but that was before 0.9.11 was released, so it's not in any
released version yet.
I just checked in changes to make cleanbld.bat also remove the other two
Flex-generated files.
