A new checkout, running autogen.sh, then './configure' with
'--disable-gtk2' did NOT help.
Removing '--disable-gtk2' did the trick..., although I'm still without GTK2.

Running the command:
# ./configure --without-ucdsnmp --enable-gtk2=no
I'm getting:
./configure: syntax error near unexpected token `AM_PATH_GTK_2_0(2.0.0,'
./configure: ./configure: line 2364: ` AM_PATH_GTK_2_0(2.0.0,

Same thing when running with '...--disable-gtk2'.
I don't have GTK2 on this computer. It's RH 6.2 Linux.
After running autogen.sh, I still got:

*** A new enough version of pkg-config was not found.

My GTK and GLIB are 1.2.5
I tried to look in the ethereal-dev archives, but did not find an
answer to this. I know it's been discussed, but I did not find a
concrete solution.
