I think so. I already use it quite regularely with scripts getting tethereal
to extract
various fields an put them on the COL_INFO line in order to do some simple
but useful
analysis, say create per-client rpc-stat statistics for all clients
encountered in a capture file.

No. There is no new listener input yet. It just use the normal/old tap
system tapping from frame
just the same as the tethereal protocol hierarchy statistics does.
