We could do this with ADNS (http://www.gnu.org/software/adns/), but that
would add to the list of libraries we already use/require.

I vote for turning off DNS resolution by default until more responsive
lookups are implemented.  I get a lot of "Ethereal is slow" comments from
people as well.
