That leaves no option to apply the settings *without* saving them,
which, as per my previous message, is an absolute requirement for
Edit->Preferences, at least, unless you have *more than one* set of
preference settings, and can somehow revert to your "default" setting,
and can change the settings without overwriting your default setting.
