Hello List,

I've just received a problem report with autogen.sh failing when
running the aclocal command on a rh7.2 with automake 1.4p5 installed.
I could reproduce with the 1.4p5 version from ftp.gnu.org on my
Suse 8.0 system. I couldn't reproduce it with 1.5 and and 1.6, so
unless the problem is specific to that version, I intend to disable
the aclocal-fallback feature for versions of aclocal prior to 1.5
(aclocal is part of automake). In case someone is using a 1.4
version that does not show that problem and who depends on this
feature, please let me know so I may use a stricter version
checking.

I found out that "pro" means "instead of" (as in proconsul). Now I know
what proactive means.
