So far as I can determine there is no deterministic way that the file is a FW1 monitor file. The format is exactly a snoop format. There is no info in the padding area. So the only way without heuristic behaviour of packet-eth.c is to use a Switch in Edit-Preferences-Protocols-Ethernet. Here is the patch with the additional Preference in packet-eth.c.
