Hi,

This is off topic, but relates to how the Ethereal build infrastructure 
works across UNIX and Windows ...

I am working on a project to develop a benchmark driver for CIFS for the 
SNIA CIFS Benchmarking working group.

I have extracted a bunch of stuff from Samba (the smbtorture stuff) and 
have turned it into a stand-alone program that can be built under Linux 
and FreeBSD (an hopefully, today, I will check Slowaris as well).

Recently, the topic of building on Windows (including CYGWIN) came up.

I should be able to test for CYGWIN in configure (so configure.in will 
have some CYGWIN tests), but how should this be managed for Windows 
nativey?
