You've needed Perl to build the documentation for quite a while,
although the documentation isn't built for a Win32 build, if the
question is really "how much stuff do I need to build Ethereal on
operating systems from Redmond, Washington, USA?".

If you build from a source distribution and don't touch "ncp2222.py",
you shouldn't need Python.

If you build from CVS, you *will* need Python, unless you copy
"packet-ncp2222.c" from some other machine.

Both are available for operating systems from Redmond; I think the Perl
on my NT partition came from CygWin (which also supplies the Flex,
Bison, and Bourne(-Again) shell that are sometimes necessary when
building from CVS), and Python for Win32 can be found from
