What happens if you install WinDump (the Win32 port of tcpdump):

	http://netgroup-serv.polito.it/windump/

and run it with the "-D" flag (which, according to the manual page:

	http://netgroup-serv.polito.it/windump/docs/manual.htm

causes it to list the interfaces available on the system)? Does it
report two interfaces with identical names?

If so, the problem is with the Win32 libpcap port (WinPcap), which both
Ethereal and WinDump use; you should report this problem to the folks at
the Politecnico di Torino - the page at

	http://netgroup-serv.polito.it/winpcap/

for the WinPcap library says

Please send bug reports to winpcap@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
