Subject: [ethereal-dev] NetBIOS name types

Hi,

where did the list of NetBIOS name types come from?

I find some of them suspicious.

I have always known a name type of 1B as a domain master browser, 1D as a
local master browser, and 1C as a logon server or domain controllers. I
have also known 1E as the potential master browsers ...

Now, the documentation I have shows 1C as the list of domain controllers,
and 1B as the domain master browser, and suggests that the PDC will
register this address, however, Samba can be set up to separate the DMB
function from the PDC function, so I suggest that we regard 1B as a DMB ...
