Hi,

I tried to compile ethereal 0.8.2 and I got the following error:

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I. -I./wiretap -I/usr/local/include
-I/usr/X11R6/include -Wall -g -O2 -I. -I./wiretap
-I/usr/local/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/lib/glib/include
-I/usr/X11R6/include -c capture.c
capture.c: In function `capture_pcap_cb':
capture.c:856: incompatible types in assignment
make[2]: *** [capture.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/erwin/Desktop/ethereal-0.8.2'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/erwin/Desktop/ethereal-0.8.2'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

The same happend with ethereal version 0.8.0 and 0.8.1.
Any ideas how I could solve this problem?

System:
Linux 2.2.13, Distr. SuSE 6.3
(ethereal 0.7.7, which is part of the distribution, works fine)
gcc=egcs-2.91.66
gtk 1.2.6
libpcap 0.4 (patched) is also installed

TIA!
